On May 17,the organizer of Great Wall of China Marathon got a letter from a runner from
Germany. Below is the letter and our answer:

Dear Marathon friends.
today I ran the half-marathon cross the Great Wall. It was a great experience for me. It was hard but also beautiful. My concern is that my team in Shanghai (Metabo Powertools China / MPC) sent me the price information: They pay approx. 4500 RMB for my attendance. That is a lot!
Is that true that I have to pay so much for this half-marathon? I¡Çm not a tourist. I¡Çm the chairman of our Shanghai company MPC. Therefore my question to you, why I had to pay so much money for the today¡Çs half-marathon?
I would appreciate your answer about the payment.

Dear Mr. Erhard Krauss,
Thank you very much for your letter.
There are two Great Wall Marathon races, our name is
GREAT WALL OF CHINA MARATHON, and the Great Walls our participants will run is in Beijing and their name is
Great Wall Marathon and their runners will run in Tianjin city.
Their marathon is organized by a Danish travel company, and ours is organized totally by Chinese and
Chinese companies, so we do not require our participants to join our tours.
On May 1,our runners from 10 different countries
(including German runners) have very happily and
very successfully run the Great Wall of China marathon.
The application fee was 150USD,whichincludes:
transportation (downtown Beijing-two Great
Walls-downtown Beijing: total over 350km),lunch at a
Great Wall restaurant, T-shirt, water supply along the
Great Walls, the entrance fee to two Great Walls, mobile
toilets on the Great Walls, the security, etc.
Welcome you to join the Great Wall of China Marathon
on May 1,2009.Items:Full Marathon, Half Marathon,
10km Marathon,5km Marathon and 10km Walking.And you will feel that you would be best
served by the very kind and warm-hearted Beijingers and our professional
organizers.
By the way, we are now welcoming and accepting the runners worldwide to run the marathon course of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
