2008 Beijing International Marathon(Oct.19, 2008)

2008 Beijing International Marathon was held today. More than 30000 runners attended the marathon. The marathon started from 8:30 from Tiananmen Square and the finishing point is at Olympic Sports Center. 

The sponsor this year is a Chinese company. 


Runners from more than 10 different countries attended the marathon.

¡¡The first three winners Kiptoo Benjamin,Luka Chelimo and Mr. Wangai Simon are all from Kenya for the man race. The No 1 time is 2:10:14. And the first three winners for women are all from China,Bai Xue won the event in 2:26:47 and Chen Rong and Zhang Yingying finished in 2:28:25 and 2:28:52. 

Beijing International Marathon today was over. The next big marathon event in Beijing would be the Great Wall of China Marathon to be held on May 1,2009. It would be the most exciting one we have ever held. We warmly welcome runners worldwide to make your proud marathon history on the Great Walls of China 193 days from now.
