Veronica Voakes:First Time Marathon(June 11,2010) We have over 5000 friends at facebook(Greatwall Marathon),and Veronica Voakes is one of the 100 friends up till now at Facebook who would attend the Great Wall of China Marathon on Sunday May 1,2011. Yesterday we received her Online Application,and 12 hours later,we also got her very warm email telling about her marathon life: "I had always wanted to be a runner, but was never in shape and lacked self-confidence to even try. After losing 120 pounds, I started running in September 2009. I completed my first marathon on May 29, 2010. It was an extremely emotional time for various reasons. I was determined to run (even with 6 stress fractures). Of course it was physically painful, but crossing that finish line made it all worth it! I hope to combine my love of running and my fascination of China and run the Great Wall of China Marathon in 2011!" When Veronica Voakes comes to Beijing China,we Chinese people and Chinese organizers would do our best for her and all the wonderful runners across the world.
