Answer New Questions from Our New Runners Today(January 3,2012)
1. We read that
the run comes with a shirt, a certificate and a finisher's medal.
But will there also be an actual ranking? Is there going to be an
award ceremony for the top finishers? Or even each age group?
Answer: Yes, you are right, all the runners would get the
t-shirt, a finisher's medal and the most important, the certificate on
which the actual ranking would
be immediately printed as soon as each runner passes the finish
line.
It is the company which provides the timing service for Beijing
Marathon would also provide the Champion Chip service and the timing
service for all our runners at the Great Wall of China Marathon on
May 1,2012.
When everyone finish the running, here would be a ceremony soon on
the Great Walls to award
the trophies to the top runners (men and women) of the full,half,10k
and 5k.
We will not do that in age group at Great Wall of China Marathon
2012.
We are very happy to know that you are one of the strong runners, we would be really very happy that if you would be on the
top, including all your friends also on the very top ranking.
2. Where exactly is the hotel (Zhongxie hotel) from
which the pickup to and from the race will be arranged? Is is easily
accessible from an
airport?
Answer:We had used Zhongxie Hotel for 10 years, and from
2012,we will use a new four-star hotel for the registration, also
the directing center for the Great Wall of China Marathon 2012.It is
Shenzhou (Beijing) International Hotel.
It is very easy to get to the hotel from the airport.

3. The application fee is to be made to a bank in
Japan. Does this
mean the hosts of this are not actually based in China?
Answer: We Chinese people set Overseas General Office of Great
Wall of China Marathon in Japan. The purpose is that we could best
connect to the whole world and we could go to any country very
quickly and very easily
from Japan for the promotion of the Great Wall of China Marathon
worldwide.
For example, we have over 7000 friends just at facebook, most of them
like marathon and like running,
but in Mainland China, we cannot get accessed to facebook and Youtube
and twitter.
Overseas General Office of Great Wall of China Marathon is in charge
of all the overseas affairs of all the runners/ participants outside
Mainland China. For the overseas runners/participants working/living/studying in China,they are welcome to use our bank account in
Mainland China.
4. How many people will be running this race? Will it
be very crowded during the run?
Answer: There would be more than 2,000 participants for the
Great Wall of China Marathon on May 1,2012.
several hundreds of them are the real runners, and most of the rest
would do 10k walking.
We have already divided the different time for the participants to
start, and the full marathon runners would run the different direction
on westwards first.
