About the visitors on the Great Walls during the race day(July 2,2014) Today,Mr.Jack Chia has applied and paid to run the Great Wall of China Marathon on May 1,2014. Mr.Chia asked a question before the application that whether it would be crowded on May 1 for the race.Below is our reply: For the overseas runners,they might have the impression that the Great Walls are quite crowded on the Chinese holidays,such as May 1.Because most runners might have seen that extremely crowded Great Wall pictures.That is Badaling Great Walls.There would always be over 60,000 visitors in a day during the Chinese holiday there. In fact,the Great Walls we use is Jinshanling and its extended Great Walls in Beijing,and it is not convenient places for ordinary visitors to reach,mostly,it is the persons who drive their own cars goes to visit the Great Walls,and the number of the visitors are normally 500-1000 on May 1,and when they come to the Great Walls,it would be about 11am,and they stay there for about 3 hours and go back to Beijing,and they usually just visit about 5 or 7 watch towers near starting from the entrance. The Great Wall of China Marathon 2015 starts from 6AM ,and ends at 4PM,so the visitors would not not affected during the race,this year,we all runners went the same direction of the Great Walls,next year,we will have two directions on the Great Walls for runners to run,so this would best keep the runners balance on the different part of the Great Walls with over 1200 runners.
