A Word to All Full Marathon Runners-Part 1(April 5,2015) Good morning,everyone!There are only 26 days to go for the 14th Great Wall of China Marathon on May 1,2015. As the organizer,we think about alll the runners day and night,we are making our greatest efforts for all runners. What we now concern most is not 5K runners,not the 10K runners,and even not the half marathon runners.They all would enjoy the race very much with within a few hours,and most half marathon runners could finish the race in about 6 hours. We concern most is all the full marathon runners.You should get in your mind that you are going to run the most difficult marathon in your life,and you would run the most difficult marathon in China. Most full marathon runners could finish the race in about 9 hours or 9 hours 30 minutes.There could be some full marathon runners that even running more than 10 hours,you could not finish the race.We are imaging and could feel your feelings that how sad and how disappointed you would feel at that moment. The time limit is 10 hours,and if we could see that you would not finish the race,we realize that you might take more than 10 hours,or 11 hours to finish the race,then at about 9 hours 30 minutes,we would stop your running,and lead you back from the short-cut to the Finish line,remember that just by walking to the short cut,it would take you about 30 or 40 minutes back to the Finish line.So please listen to our direction on the walls. In the past few years,we could see that some runners even insisted to run,more than 10 hours,or even 11 hours,we remeber one year that a female runner ran even till 8:30PM in the darkness on the walls.Such thing would never never never be allowed this year. If such things happen,we would definitely stop you.But we would truely feel so regret that you could not finish the race.Please be happy that you can come to run the next year. We remebered very clearly that 5 years ago,three Japanese girls came to run the full marathon,they could not finish the race,we stopped them,they three kneeled down on the finished line there cried so painfully,it was not that they cried that we stopped them,it was the cry that they feel so regret that they could not finish. The following year,they came again,and they all completed the full marathon,they were so happy that moment.In the June 2013,one of the three girls got married,and their marathon friends made a video present for their wedding,with the Great Wall of China Marathon(GWCM) as one of the most beautiful memory in her life. We will continue to say more for all our full marathon runners tomorrow.Thank you all very much!
